Heidi is the Patch Lady, and runs the Lemon Grass Spa Products.
As the Patch Lady, Heidi sews patchs on uniforms. She has been sewing patches on Boy Scouts uniforms for the past few years. At a dollar a patch how can you go wrong. The key for the low price is she works out of our home and requires the uniforms to be dropped off and picked up there. She has also been able to sew patches on Fort Collins Park Rangers uniforms becuase they liked the quality of her work. She can also do soccer uniforms, girls scout uniforms, karate uniforms, scout patch quilts, some clothing alterations, baby quilts, and custom sewing jobs.
Her Lemongrass Spa Products is a venture she has just started. She is excited about the quality of the product and the fact their products are all natural. Mike was initially very skeptical about this new product and their way of marketing. However, he was quickly won over because he is allergic to normal bug spray (Deet makes him sick) and Lemongrass' uniquely named product Bugaboo contains no deet and truly makes a difference in keeping the mosquitos at bay.
Mike is the artist and does the drawings and carvings.
He is a self taught artist and has been seriously drawing since 1995. He started doing woodworking when he was in junior high, which we will just say was a long time ago. He has started doing carvings just this last year, but with his past woodworking experience, his artistic abilty, and his willingness to attempt what hasn't been done before, he has already produced some very nice carvings.
Together they do the etchings.
For a couple of years they owned and operated An Etch in Time Engravings, a business dedicated to glass, and mirror etching. Although they enjoyed the business, marketing is not one of their strengths. So now it is another craft that they are very skilled in and can still do custom jobs. |
